Capital Deptrans recalled the rules for the use of electric scooters

Metropolitan Deptrans recalled the rules for the use of electric scooters on the Telegram channel.

“Electric scooters are a popular transport in the capital. Its development is supported by the mayor of Moscow S. Sobyanin. Since the start of the season, users have already made 4.5 million trips, more than 70 percent of them for transportation purposes: they took the scooter to go to the office, to the neighborhood, to the subway, MCC or bus station. “We urge users to follow simple rules that will make travel safe for themselves and those around them,” wrote Maxim Liksutov, deputy mayor of Moscow for Transport.

Before starting a trip, experts advise to check the service of the scooter, pay attention to the operation of the brake and audible signal, the presence of a headlight and a rear lamp and if it is easy to use the device. You also need to track your route on the map in the app and find out if it goes beyond the service area.

Furthermore, Deptrans recommends the use of elbow pads, knees and helmets, clothing with reflective elements at night. At the same time, you should control the scooter with only two hands, without being distracted from the road, but walking along bike paths or sidewalks. You only have to cross the road at a pedestrian crossing.

Earlier, the lawyer recalled the sentences for stealing bicycles and scooters. The expert said that in case of theft of personal property, whether bicycle, scooter or wheelchair, a criminal case will be raised under Article “Theft”.
