A cake made from wafer cake smeared with condensed milk is familiar to almost everyone since childhood. However, few people know that he also has his own name – andruty. He gained love and popularity thanks to a simple recipe and very quick preparation. Famous Ukrainian chef Yevgeny Klopotenko revealed the secret of creating the perfect dessert, which will be possible even for those who are a rare guest in the kitchen.

Andruty, or waffle cake with condensed milk

Ingredients:

  • Packaging of waffle cakes (from 6 pieces) -1;
  • Walnuts – 150 gr;
  • Condensed milk – 1 can;
  • Cherries (fresh or frozen) – 250 gr;
  • Sugar – 100 gr.

Method of cooking:

Before you start making waffle cake, you need to prepare all the ingredients. To do this, you need to take the butter out of the fridge in advance so that it softens at room temperature, and the jar of condensed milk should be sent to a pot of water after you have removed the paper label. Klopotenko advises to cover the bottom of the pan with a napkin and cook the condensed milk for about two hours. The water should completely cover the jar, and in the process of boiling it should be filled, make sure to use only boiling water, not cold water. You need to cook condensed milk on low heat. Open only after it has cooled.

In another pot place the seedless cherries and sugar and simmer on low heat for about 20 minutes. After that, we kill the cherries with a blender until they are smooth and boil them for another 20 minutes on low heat, then let them cool.

In a bowl, mix the condensed boiled milk and butter with a whisk until it becomes a homogeneous mass.

Open the package with cakes. Lubricate each mass in turn with boiled condensed milk and then with cherry jam. The latter will give sourness, and the cake will not be too sweet.

Coat the top layer of waffles and the sides with cream.

Chop the nuts with a knife and sprinkle on top and sides of the cake. Ready-made cakes should be stored in the refrigerator.
