But spaying pets has become much more frequent.

In recent years, among those living in the Kurgan region, the number of those responsible for animal maintenance has increased. This was noted by the head of the regional veterinary department Tatyana Sandakova.

Thus, the number of owners spaying their cats and dogs has increased significantly. Services for such operations are provided by 50 veterinary clinics in the region, 26 of which are state-owned. “People started to think that unwanted kittens and puppies, even if donated, would most likely end up on the streets,” explains Tatyana Sandakova the reason for this phenomenon.

Contributes to this and holding stocks for the sterilization of animals in veterinary clinics. Additional discounts exist for retirees with pets. According to Tatyana Sandakova, the cost of such a service in the Kurgan region starts from 700 rubles.

Also, the Trans-Urals began to vaccinate their animals more frequently against rabies. About 7,000 cats and 18,000 dogs are vaccinated each year at state veterinary clinics alone. By the way, their owners are obliged by law to vaccinate dogs against rabies once a year.

But the Kurgan people still rarely slaughter their animals. At present, the all-Russian microchip animal database contains data on only 313 pets from the Kurgan region. Meanwhile, if the animal gets lost, installing a chip will help to find it. Additionally, if someone steals a purebred dog or cat, the real owners will be able to use a chip to prove it is their pet.
